Our residential dumpster rental is the container most Peoria homeowners call about: a 10, 15 or 20-yard roll-off dropped on the driveway for a garage or basement cleanout, a kitchen or bathroom remodel, a move, or the estate of a family member. One flat price covers delivery, the rental period, pickup and a disposal weight allowance, and we quote it before the truck rolls.

Household cleanup dumpsters are built for the way a home job actually goes: a few days of filling, a weekend push, then a call to have it hauled. You choose the dates and we place the container where you want it, with boards under the rails if your driveway needs protecting.

Cleanouts are the most common job: basements and garages full of thirty years of boxes, rental units between tenants around Bradley and the West Bluff, and whole-house cleanouts after a move or a death in the family. A 15 or 20-yard container handles most of them in one go.

Remodels are next. A kitchen or bathroom tear-out, old flooring and carpet, plaster and lath from a 1910s house in Randolph-Roanoke or the North Valley, drywall and trim from a basement finish in Dunlap, or a deck coming down all fit a 10 to 20-yard box. If you are taking a roof off, tell us: shingles are heavy and we size for weight, not just volume.

Most residential dumpsters go on the driveway, and the City of Peoria says on its own permits page that a container on a driveway or other private property needs no Public Works permit. Two things to know: City Code Sec. 13-37(d) limits a dumpster on a residential property to two weeks unless you ask Community Development (309-494-8600) in writing for longer, and if the container has to sit in a City street or alley it needs the Public Works right-of-way permit, which we apply for as the hauler: $20 per 30 days, 48 hours to process, 50 feet from an intersection, 10 feet from a hydrant, lit barricades, reflective strips and boards under it.

The other towns are different at every boundary: East Peoria licenses the roll-off itself at $25 for 30 days, Morton keeps containers off the street entirely and limits a move-out dumpster to 30 days, Washington keeps roll-offs out of front yards and the street without the City Administrator’s say-so, Pekin wants Public Works authorisation for anything obstructing a public way, and West Peoria, Bartonville and Dunlap publish no container rule at all. Furniture, boxes, clothing, toys, carpet, flooring, drywall, lumber, cabinets, fixtures and general junk are all fine. Illinois keeps some things out of landfills by law: landscape waste (since 1990), lead-acid batteries, whole tires and appliances with their components still in (1994), motor oil (1996), and computers, TVs and other covered electronics (2012). Liquids and hazardous chemicals never go in, refrigerators and air conditioners need the refrigerant recovered first, and oil-based paint, solvents and pesticides go to a Peoria County household hazardous waste collection rather than a container.
