What we take
Furniture, sofas, mattresses and box springs, appliances (with the refrigerant recovered as the law requires and the unit routed to a recycler, since Illinois keeps white goods out of landfills), exercise equipment, hot tubs, carpet, TVs and electronics (which go to an electronics recycler, not the landfill, under Illinois law), fencing, sheds we have taken down, and the general contents of a garage, attic, storage unit or house. We sort recyclables and reusable items out on the way, so a working appliance or good furniture does not go in a landfill if there is a better home for it.
Cleanouts
Whole-house and estate cleanouts are our most common junk-removal job in Peoria. We walk the property with you, agree what stays, and clear the rest room by room: house, garage, basement and shed. - Can you do it today?Often, yes. Call in the morning and we can usually fit a junk-removal job in the same day across Peoria and the nearby towns.
- Do you take appliances with refrigerant?Yes. Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are handled with the refrigerant recovered by a certified technician and the appliance sent for recycling, as Illinois law requires.
- What about hazardous items?Oil-based paint, solvents, pesticides, propane cylinders and similar items are not junk removal. Peoria County runs household hazardous waste collections for residents from 7 am to noon at rotating sites, and latex paint goes to a PaintCare drop-off. We will tell you where each item goes.
